KRAKOW TOURS - OJCÓW NATIONAL PARK TOUR
The extended surroundings of Krakow have attracted tourists for a long time, as you can find numerous picturesque landscape regions of differing character here. Ojców and the Ojców national Park lie in the valley of the river Prądnik, approximately 25 kilometers north of Krakow. Deep caves and botanical rarities, such as the Ojców brich, are hidden amongst the Jurassic lime-stone rocks and thick forests. Of the lime-stones caves the Jaskinia Ciemna/Dark Cave and the Grota Łokietka/ Ladislav the Short is said to have hidden from his enemies in the Grota Łokietka during the battles for the unity of the Polish state. In Ojców you will also find the remains of medieval castle which recall the days of Casimir the Great. The castle, which stands high above Prądnik Valley, lies on the so-called “Path of the Eagles’ Nests”. Worth visiting is also the National Museum named after prof. Władysław Szafer and located in the Villa Łokietek.
